Juventus set to avoid U.S. summer games because of Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus set to avoid U.S. summer games because of Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo's alleged rape case comes back to haunt the footballer, but this time, it could have an effect on Juventus' plans for their performance in the International Champions Cup.

According to a report by the New York Times, Juventus will avoid setting foot in the U.S. in order to avoid CR7 from being contacted by American authorities, who are currently investigating the alleged rape of Kathryn Mayorga back in 2009. The Old Lady was expected to play in the U.S. leg of the International Champions Cup, but sources consulted by the Times revealed that Juve will end up playing in the Asian leg of the preseason tournament.

"Juventus has a multiyear agreement to play in the International Champions Cup, which is organized by New York-based Relevent Sports. Ronaldo's legal troubles played a role in shaping plans for Juventus's participation, according to people familiar with this summer's schedule," Tariq Panja of the NYT revealed.

CR7 has been asked to give a DNA sample to match matter found on Ms. Mayorga's dress from that night, but while the warrant was reportedly sent to Italy, the footballer is yet to send such sample to the Las Vegas Police Department.

The Portuguese striker is currently training with Portugal for the upcoming UEFA Euro Qualifiers. He has always maintained his innocence in this case, with his lawyers adding that everything that happened between CR7 and Ms. Mayorga was "consensual in nature."

Real Madrid chief JOKES about Eden Hazard transfer: Chelsea are NOT happy

Real Madrid chief JOKES about Eden Hazard transfer: Chelsea are NOT happy
REAL MADRID chief Florentino Perez reportedly joked about the transfer of Eden Hazard at a lunch event, with Chelsea not happy about the continued situation.

By Callum Vurley

Real Madrid are expected to undergo a monster transfer window this summer after a turbulent season.

The European champions have seen all hopes of landing a trophy go up in smoke, with two managers being sacked along the way.

Zinedine Zidane has made a shock return, just 10 months after resigning following the dismissals of Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari.

And the Frenchman has already made headway in the transfer market, signing highly-rated defender Eder Militao from Porto.
But more are expected, with Chelsea star Hazard now the top target.

Even before the return of Zidane, the Belgian’s move to the Bernabeu was looking like a certainty but now it is almost a formality.

But Real have been pushing Chelsea’s buttons with the manner in which they are going about the deal.
And the latest move by the Spanish giants will likely further tensions between the negotiations parties.
According to AS, Real president Perez joked about the Hazard transfer debacle at a lunch event.

Both clubs had come together on Tuesday to present the tenth edition of the Corazon Classic Match, a charity match between the two sides that will include the likes of Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo and Marcel Desailly.

And while both sets of delegates sat down for lunch, Hazard was the topic of conversation - with Perez joking about the transfer situation.
Tore Andre Flo, former Blues striker, tried to aim away the talk to minimise the effect of any Madrid links.
But AS go on to report that Chelsea have not been happy with Real and their methods.

Hazard would not be the first player to move to Madrid from Stamford Bridge in recent times.

Thibaut Courtois swapped life in London for Spain last summer for a fee of around £35m after effectively going on strike.

The Belgian has had a tough time in his debut year in the Spanish capital though, and Zidane dropped the stopper in his first match back in charge.

Arsenal don't want to make Denis Suarez's deal permanent and will send him back to Barcelona

Arsenal don't want to make Denis Suarez's deal permanent and will send him back to Barcelona
by Oliver Browning

Denis Suarez was the talk of the January transfer window with his loan move from Barcelona to Arsenal.

The deal took weeks to complete after a back and forth between both clubs, but it was eventually confirmed on the day before the window slammed shut.

Big things were expected of the 25-year-old when he touched down in London but during his first few months, Suarez has failed to make an impact.

He's featured just six times as a substitute and is yet to start a game for the Gunners.
It's believed that manager Unai Emery wanted to give the Spaniard as much time as possible to adapt to Premier League football.

But according to a report from The Sun this week, Emery and Arsenal have already grown tired of Suarez and will be looking to ship him back to Barca in the summer.

The paper suggests that the midfielder has failed to impress his coach since joining in January and Emery believes that he's struggling to cope with the physical demands of English football.

Suarez has a little more time to get into his manager's good books as Arsenal players who haven't been called up for international duty are currently in Dubai for a warm-weather training camp.

But, The Sun also suggests that Emery is already looking ahead to the summer and has his eyes on young PSG winger Christopher Nkunku and Stade Rennes' Ismaila Sarr.

Right now, things aren't looking good for Suarez.

He failed to break into Barca's team in the first half of the season - playing just eight times - and he's not done enough to convince Arsenal to make his deal permanent either.
What happens next is unclear for now, but it looks like his stay in the Premier League will be short-lived.

Trusted French source claims Real Madrid will break bank for Liverpool star

Trusted French source claims Real Madrid will break bank for Liverpool star

According to Teamtalk
Liverpool could be braced for a renewed summer battle to keep one of their star performers amid claims in France that Real Madrid could be preparing an impossible to refuse transfer approach.

Sadio Mane’s form for Liverpool this season has been nothing short of sensational and the Senegalese star has taken his game on to another level recently, having plundered an impressive 11 goals in his last 11 games – putting him joint-second, alongside teammate Mohamed Salah, in the race for the Premier League golden boot.

Mane had emerged as a target for Zinedine Zidane last year, with one report going as far to suggest the former Southampton star had even given a verbal agreement on a move to the Bernabeu.

However, Zidane’s departure shortly after steering Real to a third successive Champions League triumph saw their interest cool, with his replacement Julien Lopetegui prioritising other positions instead.

However, Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu dugout has seen Mane’s name linked once again with a move to the LaLiga giants.

And according to France Football, Zidane has put forward Mane’s name as one of three prime targets to sign this summer, with the coach urging Real president Florentino Perez to do whatever is required to prise the forward away from Liverpool.

Mane addressed speculation linking him with Real earlier this year, when he said: “Speculation is part of football. You just learn to live with it and not to take it too seriously.

“All I can say is that my only concern is Liverpool. Mo, Bobby…it seemed like everyone was signing contracts and they were saying: ‘Hey Sadio, when are you going to sign?’. I said to each of them: ‘Don’t worry bro, I will sign’.

“And what did I do? I signed, so they are pleased now!

“I can’t wait to lift a trophy with Liverpool. I know the fans are desperate for us to win the Premier League.

“It would be an amazing moment for the club. It has been far too long for a team the size of Liverpool.

“We believe we are heading in the right direction, but there are some very tough rivals – City were unbelievable last season and very strong again – but why not?”

However, France Football believes the return to Zidane at Real could change all that and, while Liverpool won’t allow Mane to move on without a fight, they could face a renewed battle to keep the player from Real’s clutches.
