Premier League table: United, Spurs level ahead of next week clash, City five points clear
By
Tottenham Hotspur crushed Liverpool 4-1, to go joint-second with Manchester United on the Premier League table.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men stormed into a two-goal lead at Wembley,
thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son in the opening 12
minutes.
Liverpool pulled one back through Mohammed Salah, but Dele Alli
struck late to ensure that Spurs went into the break with their two-goal
advantage.
Kane netted one more in the second half, as Jurgen Klopp’s men struggled to deal with their intensity and superiority.
It sets the tone nicely for next week’s fixture at Old Trafford, when
Manchester United welcome Spurs. United were shocked 2-1 by
Huddersfield on Saturday.
Their city rivals, Manchester City, have already opened a five-point gap at the top of the log.
