Manchester United ready to break transfer record to sign star winger
According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Manchester United are ready to splash the cash in order to acquire the services of Arsenal target Thomas Lemar in January.
Lemar was strongly linked with a move to England throughout the
summer transfer window and Arsenal seemed to be the most likely
destination for the French international after the Gunners placed a
whopping £92million bid for him.
However, Lemar surprisingly went on to reject the move to Arsenal
citing that he did not have enough time to contemplate the transfer and
as a result, the 21-year-old has ended up staying put at Monaco for the
time being.
It is believed that Arsenal will look to revive their pursuit of
Lemar during the January transfer window as Alexis Sanchez has not yet
signed a new contract but the Daily Mirror reports that the Gunners will
face competition from Manchester United in the race to sign the French
wonderkid.
United boss Jose Mourinho is in the market to sign a winger after
missing out on Ivan Perisic over the summer and claims are being made
that the Red Devils’ manager will now go all out to sign an alternative
in Lemar by placing a club record £92million bid on the table in
January.
