Three Manchester United players praised by Jose Mourinho after win vs Swansea
Jose Mourinho admits his substitutes made him 'look even better' after Manchester United's 4-0 win over Swansea.
With his side 1-0 up, the Portuguese threw on Marouane Fellaini and Anthony Martial with a quarter of an hour to go before calling on Ander Herrera to close out the final few minutes.
Just five minutes after making his first change, Romelu Lukaku had put United 2-0 in front before Paul Pogba and Martial added gloss to the scoreline.
And,
given Martial's involvement in all three goals, Mourinho could not hide
his delight with the attitude of his squad right now - even when they
are not starting.
"I think the team is confident and both matches
winning 1-0 at half-time we didn't start the second-half looking like
we have to keep a clean sheet to win the match," he told reporters in
his post-match press conference.
"We always look like, 'let's at
least control the game by having the ball and try to score more goals'.
And we did that in both matches.
"Players on the bench [with] great quality make it easy for me to
make decision to make changes. Great players make managers look even
better.
"I really think they're fantastic, their attitude, all of
them. Even the ones not selected because we know you need a squad to do
something good this season."
