Chelsea to offer Arsenal £35 million for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Chelsea to offer Arsenal £35 million for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Chelsea have ramped up their interest in Arsenal's contract rebel Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and will part with up to £35 million to land the England international, reports the Mirror.
Antonio Conte is determined to obtain reinforcements before the window shuts and Oxlade-Chamberlain has shown no signs of extending his contract at the Emirates, which has just one year remaining.
The Italian is determined to transform the Southampton product into an exciting right wing-back, with the 23-year-old possessing the qualities to thrive in the all-action role.
While Arsene Wenger has remained adamant Alexis Sanchez will not be leaving, Oxlade-Chamberlain's uncertain future has been discussed less, with the player reportedly unhappy at being pushed over to the left flank in the current system.

Blues aim to hijack Spurs' move for Barkley

The Telegraph claims that Chelsea are not just tracking Oxlade-Chamberlain, and will compete for the signature of Everton misfit Ross Barkley with Tottenham.
Ronald Koeman's side have failed to garner any interest at the initial price tag of £50m, and with the Toffees set to drop their demand Chelsea could snatch the 23-year-old from under Spurs' nose.
Progress for a move to north London has been slow, with wages reportedly an issue, but Chelsea look to be better prepared to meet the player's demands and should the price tag drop to £25m, Barkley could seal his protracted move away from Goodison before the transfer deadline.

Reds knock back another offer for Coutinho

The last transfer saga of the summer has taken another twist as Liverpool have rejected a €100m offer -- €85m and then €15m in add-ons -- from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian appears keen to move, but reluctant to rock the boat at Anfield in order to obtain the switch, but the Blaugrana have once again posed the question, despite Liverpool's insistent responses that the player is not for sale.
The 25-year-old currently has a back complaint and will miss the opener with Watford this weekend.
And the Merseysiders consider the case closed, though Barca are desperate to replace Neymar and, loaded with more than £200m to spend in the remainder of the window, look set to push the issue.

Hammers make ambitious Carvalho move

West Ham are set to launch a £25m move for Sporting midfielder William Carvalho, reports the Mirror.
The Portuguese international has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal tipped as a destination on many occasions.
The Lisbon club are driving a hard bargain though and want £39.5m for the 25-year-old.
The player's agent is the brother of Pep Guardiola, which led to rumours of a move to join Manchester City, while West Brom are also thought to be keen.

Tap-ins

- Inter Milan star Geoffrey Kondogbia is eager to join Valencia, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, with the French midfielder failing to impress new manager Luciano Spalletti.
A fantastically embarrassing own-goal against Chelsea in preseason appears to be the final memory for Interisti, with the 24-year-old set for the San Siro exit two years on from his €40m switch from Monaco.

- The Nerazzurri also aim to make a splash by picking up Sampdoria starlet Patrik Schick after his move to Juventus broke down because of a failed medical.
Corriere dello Sport claims the problem has been resolved and a deal is close with Samp set to receive £27.6m for the Czech striker.
- Newcastle have secured controversial Chelsea starlet Kenedy on a season-long loan, reports the Mirror.
The 21-year-old caused outrage after an offensive social media post while on tour with the Blues in China, which led to an early flight home, but Rafa Benitez is keen to offer him a second chance to reignite his career.
